These terms apply when you use mysrilankanguide.com, including our travel guides, the free quote service and tour booking requests. By using the site, you agree to them. If you represent a travel agency, our Partner Terms also apply to you.
1. About us
My Sri Lankan Guide ("we", "us") is a Sri Lanka travel planning website based in Sri Lanka. Contact: info@mysrilankanguide.com.
2. What we do, and what we don't
- We publish travel information and guides about Sri Lanka.
- We run a free quote service that introduces you to independent, verified local travel agencies. They can send you tailored itineraries and prices to compare on your private trip page.
- For trips arranged through the quote service, we are not the tour operator, travel agent or seller. We don't organise, sell or provide the travel services, and we don't take payment for them. The agency you choose provides the services under its own terms.
3. Using the free quote service
- The service is free for travellers, with no obligation to accept any offer.
- Please give accurate information and use the service only for genuine trip plans.
- If you agree to sharing, we send your trip details to up to three verified agencies, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
- Quotes are made by the agencies, who are responsible for their content, prices, availability and terms. Check each offer carefully, including what's included, payment terms and cancellation terms.
- Accepting a quote is not a booking or payment. It tells the agency you'd like to go ahead and shares your contact details with it. Your booking contract is made directly between you and the agency when you both confirm it, on the agency's terms.
- Pay only as agreed directly with the agency. Never send card details or passwords in messages. Report anything suspicious using Report a problem on your trip page or by emailing us.
- You can withdraw your request or delete your data at any time from your trip page.
4. What "verified" means
Before an agency can receive requests or appear in our directory, we check its tourism licence or business registration and its contact details. We may review agencies again and suspend them if we receive valid complaints. Verification is a useful check, but it isn't a guarantee of an agency's services, quality, financial standing or conduct, and we don't endorse every service an agency offers.
5. Tour booking requests
When you send a booking request for a tour shown on our site, it's a request, not a confirmed booking. We'll contact you to confirm availability, the final price, who provides the tour and the applicable terms before any payment is taken. Prices shown on the site are indicative until confirmed.
6. Travel information
We work hard to keep our guides accurate and useful, but things change: opening times, prices, entry rules, visas and safety conditions. Always check important details, such as visa and entry requirements and health advice, with official sources before you travel. See our Disclaimer.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the site. For example, don't send false or spam requests, harass agencies or other users, try to get around our security or privacy protections, collect data from the site with automated tools, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access or remove content to protect the service and its users.
8. Our content
The text, photos, illustrations and design on this site belong to us or our licensors. You're welcome to share links. Please don't copy or republish our content without permission.
9. Links and advertising
The site includes links to other websites and ads served by Google. We aren't responsible for third-party sites, products or services.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide the website and the quote service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for the acts, omissions, services, bookings, cancellations or refunds of agencies or other third parties, or for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with its date, applies from when it's published.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep any protections the law of your country gives you, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at info@mysrilankanguide.com. We'll try to help, including with problems involving an agency you found through us.
