Itinerary
Colombo
Arrive and spend the day exploring Colombo on foot and by public transport: Galle Face Green, Pettah market and the old Fort district.
Colombo to Kandy
Morning train to Kandy. Walk around the lake and see the evening ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth.
Kandy
A full day in Kandy: the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, the viewpoint at the white Buddha and the city market.
Kandy to Ella
The famous scenic train ride through tea country into the hills.
Ella
Walk to the Nine Arch Bridge and climb Little Adam's Peak for sunset.
Ella
Hike Ella Rock or visit a tea factory, then see Ravana Falls.
Ella to Mirissa
Onward to the south coast by bus, changing on the way.
