Ella
Ella is a small hill country town surrounded by tea estates, waterfalls and mountain viewpoints, most famous for the Nine Arch Bridge and the train journey that leads to it. Cooler temperatures and walkable trails make it a popular stop for a couple of relaxed days.

Travel tips
- Evenings are cool — bring a light jacket even in the dry season
- Book the scenic train in advance in peak season, seats sell out
- Start hikes early to avoid afternoon cloud cover
